My Dream, My Future

All of us have a dream, a dream in life in which we all want it to achieve. And a dream that may lead us to a life which we long to live with the years of our existence. A unique life that no can control and contradict the way you want your life to be. It is in everybody’s hand to have dreams and can freely fulfill them.

It’s almost 4 years that I am staying here at Ilocos Sur National High School, studying for my secondary level and in 2 months I will be marching and receiving my certificate of graduation. A certificate which signifies the difficulties at this stage that I was able to pass through my patience and perseverance. This is now the fruit of my hardships for this level of schooling. As soon as this school year ends I will step on my college life at SLU and getting closer as I am going to fulfill my dreams in life. This dream is the reason why I am doing my best in my studies. A dream in which I want my life be a comfortable and a progress one. Being a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is my dream in life. With this, I am sure that all of my other dreams including the kind of life that I want to have will be achieve.

This is my dream in life. I hope that the day that I am wishing for will come into me. I do hope also that brighter days go with me all the time. This is my dream and my future depends on this dream of mine.

Change: It Starts With Me

Change is the one constant in life. As time passes by, everything changes. No one can control the changes that are happening in our humanity. Changes in which it may be for the betterment of everybody or destruction of an entity. But one must know and learn to adapt with this amendment that may come into our being.

At the moment, one may say that she is now contented with what she have or what she is right now. She doesn’t need a change in her life and she’s happy being with it. But all I can say is that life is not just like that, things alter in every day in our years of existence. Those features that you’re living and your usual deeds will vary. When you want to change the bad side of the humanity, it is really hard. So we first need discipline in ourselves. A kind of discipline in which it will be the reason to have progress and difficulties will soon come to an end. Even those little yet functional things we do everyday, it will contribute a lot for the mankind.

That’s the change that I want to be, a change in which everybody will be benefitted. A change in which it starts with me and soon every life will be in a good hand. I hope that it will come someday.

Kannawidan Ilocos Festival

Ilocos Sur is known to be one of the provinces which generate distinct kinds of products. With these products, one town is identified with the other towns. Through the uniqueness of each entity, one is unusual and immense as the other. And when these products unite together, it creates a striking image on the oneness of the area.

And this year is already the 4th Kannawidan Festival of Ilocos Sur. It usually starts on every 31st day of January and ends in the 6th day of February. With this manner of festival, products in every town pile up and present them in a way that people will take delight in looking at them. These products are been exhibited in Vigan City and whoever wants to buy that item can have it. Residents from the nearby municipalities visit the display area and can explore the whole Ilocos Sur by merely sighting those products presented there. And on the actual day, different parlor games were played and all townspeople can join with it. Also foreign people visit and they adore this festival.

This was the splendid Kannawidan Festival. A true depiction in which it symbolizes the progress of Ilocos Sur for its different products it produces. This is one of our well-off so we better take pride of it.

January 25 . . . . . . . .

A feast day is a day on which a religious festival takes place. Feasts and festivals are celebrations involving carefully planned programs, outpourings of respect, rejoicing, or high revelry established by custom or sponsored by various cultural groups or organizations.

January 25 marks a very significant day on the lives of every Bigueňo. It is on this day that they celebrate the conversion of their patron saint, St. Paul. Different activities and festivals happened before the actual feast day. Starting from the 19th day of the month, distinct commotions are shown in the Plaza Burgos and there's also the carnival which is most visited by people not only from Vigan but also the people from nearby towns. Here's also the fascinating 'Education Day' on the 21st day in which all schools of Vigan had their parade. And as well as the captivating 'Longganisa Festival' on the 22nd day which all individuals watched the street dancing and showdown of the different contestants for this event. New Year, The New ME?

Is it really a practice to have a resolution in every New Year? Do we need to settle things we want to achieve for our coming New Year?As this special holiday comes, everybody says that these things will serve as their resolutions and promise to fulfill them throughout the year. But are you sure that everybody can stand those resolutions that they made?

As I welcome New Year, I didn't have a New Year's resolution. I just spend the day with my normal life. I didn't think of any change that I will do in myself. But as days pass by, I realize that I must have at least plans for me that will make me a better person this year. So I'm planning to change my bad attitudes with good traits, still continue doing good things, and I'll stay simple as I am today. I do hope that those who accepted for who I am last year will still accept me for who I am today. Even though it's New Year, I won't forget the moments , even if they are sad moments or happy moments, they will still remain in my hearts and memories and as well as those people who become part and completed my 2010 year and still wants to join me i my 2011 journey.

These are the things I considered to be as my resolutions. If I wasn't a good friend nor a good stranger to you last year, I hope and try my very best that this year, I will be a nice friend to everybody.

The True Essence of Christmas

Christmas is the day we commemorate the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ. For some people, it is a holy day for religious services while for others it is the day for gift giving, feasting, and good times together with their families and relatives. A time of giving, sharing, loving and forgiving one another. But do we still see the true meaning of Christmas in our humanity at present?

Everyone is excited to welcome Christmas Day. And what is their reason in doing this so? Maybe for others they wait for the ‘Misa de Gallo’ for them to complete in attending the 9 consecutive masses at dawn and believed that one can make a wish and this wish will be granted if she can able to complete the mass. While others, they wait for them to have Christmas caroling together with their friends. Young children and even the old ones can do the caroling. And little children are so happy to receive gifts as well as money from their ‘Ninongs’ and ‘Ninangs’. And for the Noche Buena time, I’m sure everybody is excited in preparing foods for this as well as when the real Noche Buena time is going on.

These deeds are parts of our yearly Christmas event. They now become a factor of our culture. For sure, every person feels so delighted in performing these acts. But then may we not forget the true essence of Christmas in which it is the time of sharing, loving and forgiving one another. We must let love disperse among human race not only during Christmas days rather everyday that God gave us.
